About BCACHC

Our Mission and Vision

BCACHC exists to support and advance the Community Health Centre (CHC) model and engage, advocate for, and support CHCs as an integral part of health and social service delivery in BC communities.

We are driven by our vision for a province where individuals and families are achieving their best health through access to personalized, and community-driven health and social services.

Our Strategy

BCACHC was established in 2017 with five CHC members and have since grown to 31 members. We support operational and aspiring CHC teams in both urban and rural communities by focusing on four goal areas.

Recognition

BCACHC works to advance the profile of the Community Health Centre model to one that is known, understood, and valued by stakeholders. We aim to foster familiarity and support for the unique approach to care practiced by CHCs.

Foundation

BCACHC works to ensure we can serve as a sustainable, viable, and stable source of support for CHCs, as communities are often under-supported and under-represented in BC health and social sectors.

Membership

BCACHC connects a nimble network of CHCs and CHC partners. We provide services and supports for existing and aspiring CHCs, and we work to build meaningful and effective partnerships.

Advocacy

BCACHC is a trusted advocate representing CHC interests and reflecting values of the CHC model. We amplify the voice, presence, and influence of CHCs for policy and systems change.

Our Team

BCACHC is governed by a volunteer board made up of representatives from member CHCs. The staff team works closely with the board, as well as our members and our partners, to bring the BCACHC strategy to life.
